A Twitter user who drives Uber, identified as @that Uber guy has narrated the ordeal he went through helping a lady he carried. Dr. Sidi Ali Mohammed, a member of the Presidential Committee on the North East Initiative (PCNI), has revealed that members of Boko Haram group are paid $3,000 daily. Mr Mohammed said this on Monday during the presentation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Sub-Sahara Africa’s Economic Outlook Report in Abuja. He said that while members of the Nigerian army get N1,000 daily for being in the North East, Boko Haram fighters get even more. “I will give you an example. The Nigerian military, for example, gets N1, 000 per day for being in the Northeast, at the war front, as an allowance. The same Northeast, where if you are a member of Boko Haram you get $3,000 per day, as allowance. So it is lucrative. Sometimes they even give you money upfront. A new report has confirmed that Zainab Aliyu has been released. According to the report, the Federal Government secured her release after she was arrested in Saudi Arabia for allegedly trafficking drugs. Zainab’s release was made known by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday. The perm sec stated that the federal government was able to establish Zainab’s innocence and that the other Nigerian involved in the case, Ibrahim Abubakar will also gain his freedom tomorrow. Nigerians had taken to social media to call the attention of President Muhammadu Buhari to the case. The president, in turn, ordered the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, to see to the immediate release of Zainab. The 2019 8.96trillion naira budget has been passed and approved by the Nigerian Senate after the third reading. According to reports, the budget passed was N86 billion higher than the proposal of N8.83 trillion presented by President Muhammadu Buhari to the National Assembly for the 2019 fiscal year.
