The Nigeria Center for Disease Control ( NCDC ) has warned against the myths some Nigerians have about the coronavirus disease. The NCDC in a post shared on Twitter warned that the consumption of lemon, ginger, garlic, palm oil doesn’t protect or prevent coronavirus. The agency also stated that drinking or spraying of disinfectants all over one’s body doesn’t kill coronavirus. COVID-19: Nigeria Records 4 New Cases, Total Number Now 135

The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) has announced four new cases of coronavirus in the country, bringing the total number of cases in Nigeria to 135. According to the agency, the four cases are in Osun and Ogun states. NCDC Confirms 20 New Coronavirus Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday confirmed 20 fresh cases of coronavirus , COVID-19. Coronavirus This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 131. According to the agency, 13 of the cases were from Lagos, four from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, two from Kaduna and one from Oyo State. “As at 09:00 pm March 30, there are 131 confirmed cases of COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 2 deaths. “Of the 131 cases, Lagos currently has 81, FCT 25, Oyo eight, Kaduna and Ogun three each, Enugu, Edo, Bauchi and Osun two each, while Ekiti, Rivers, and Benue have one each,” the tweet reads. Students at Western Michigan University are mourning after a 25-year-old Nigerian Chemical Engineering student, Bassey Offiong, died of COVID-19 on Saturday in Detroit, according to Detroit News . According to his sister, Asari, the deceased told her he was turned down several times for the coronavirus test in the Kalamazoo area while living off-campus despite having fever, fatigue, and shortness of breath. A pastor has been charged and jailed by authorities in Uganda for allegedly denying the existence of the new coronavirus in Africa, BBC reports . Lai Mohammed, minister of information, says journalists must use their valid identity cards to access their workplace during the 14-day lockdown. The minister said this following restriction of movement order given by President Muhammadu Buhari.
