Over 23 unidentified corpses were found inside a forest in Zurmi local government area of Zamfara state. According to reports, some of the bodies had their throats slit while others died of gunshots and no one could actually tell why they were killed as most of the victims were adults. The bodies had already been buried. The spokesman of the state police command SP Muhammad Shehu said the police got an information that bodies were seen in a forest in Zurmi local government area and they went there to ascertain the claim. “Our team of operatives were there and they recovered the bodies. Descreet investigation has commenced in earnest and the perpetrators will soon be fished out,” he added. Zamfara has suffered series of deadly assaults by suspected armed bandits and cattle rustlers. Some residents of Biase local government area of Cross River state were seen rushing to the scene of a tanker accident to scoop fuel with buckets and gallons while putting their lives at risk. It was gathered that the tanker crashed and landed into a ditch, when residents noticed it, they all rushed out to get free fuel for themselves. This is against the warning by the government for people to stay far from fuel tankers because of the danger of explosion. A young Nigerian woman, Jasmine Precious John has reportedly lost her life in a most sad manner after being stabbed during a robbery attempt by two criminals. The graduate of Kaduna State University, KASU but based in Abuja was killed after the two armed robbers approached and tried to snatch her phone. When she refused, the robbers stabbed her in the chest before fleeing the scene with her phone. The Miyetti Allah cattle breeders association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has lambasted Fulani lawmakers in the National Assembly for failing to protect the interest of herdsmen. The Secretary-General of the group, Saleh Al-Hassan, said this during an interview on Sunrise Daily, a Channels Television programme, on Friday. He said, “Our elite have failed to protect us. Our National Assembly members that are of Fulani background are just there collecting money. They can’t protect their people.   Mohammadu Nura, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN)chairman in Plateau state, has said the group did not commit the recent attack on unarmed citizens. Nura said that herdsmen have been on “the receiving end” of the crisis in the state, and have been “chased away from many villages”.   The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has rejected allegations by the Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) that it sponsored the killings in Plateau State.
