Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has shared more insight about the helicopter crash he survived in Kogi last month during the rigorous presidential campaign rally across the 36 states of the federation. Osinbajo who spoke during a Banquet Hall at the State House during a special thanksgiving service for the victory of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) said the fact that he survived the crash is enough for some people to be happy about. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has ruled out the conduct of fresh governorship and House of Assembly elections in Rivers State. The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Biokpomabo Awara, walked out of the stakeholders’ meeting organised by INEC to continue the suspended March 9 elections in the state. The meeting, which held at an event centre, located along Eastern Bye-Pass, Port Harcourt, was boycotted by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Labour Party (LP). Speaking at the meeting, INEC National Commissioner in-charge of Bayelsa, Rivers and Edo States, May Agbamuche-Mbu, emphasised that a fresh election would not be conducted in the state. Agbamuche-Mbu, revealed that the commission would resume collation in Rivers State on April 2, 2019. JAMB said it will not condone lateness by candidates to its 2019 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, April 1. The board’s Head, Media and Information, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday, in Lagos. NAN reports that a total of 157,631 candidates have been scheduled to sit for the optional examination in some accredited Computer Based Centres (CBT) across the country. A distraught Nigerian man identified as Ini Mbebeng is currently mourning his son whom he said died due to the bad roads in Nigeria.
