He stated this during the ”third National Summit on Diminishing Corruption in the public sector” which held in the nation’s capital, on Tuesday. The federal government has put in place new COVID-19 directives ahead of the festive season. The Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 has issued fresh directives to travellers coming into the country. Passengers arriving in Nigeria are now required to conduct a PCR test, 48 hours before embarking on their trips to the country and another day two and day seven PCR tests on arrival. They are also expected to self-isolate for seven days. Outbound passengers on their part will be required to either show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or provide a negative PCR test taken 48 hours before departure. The measures which are expected to come into effect Friday, 3rd of December, 2021, apply to members of the diplomatic corps, the committee said. A High Court sitting at the Olokuta Correctional Centre, Akure, the state capital has arraigned Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun, over allegations of fraud on Tuesday, November 30. Oleyelogun was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Meanwhile, the trial was stalled following the absence of counsels to the anti-graft agency. In March 2021, the EFCC had detained the Speaker over petitions regarding his involvement in an alleged N2.4 million seminar fraud that rocked the assembly. Ganduje, Sanusi A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, declared that the banishment of deposed Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II from Kano State was unlawful and unconstitutional. Justice Anwuli Chikere, in a judgment, ruled that the Emirate Council Law, 2019, used by the state government in banishing Sanusi was in conflict with the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended. The judge ruled that Nigeria’s constitution is supreme and any law that is inconsistent with it shall be null and void. The judge declared that the former emir had the right to live anywhere, including Kano State, as enshrined in the country’s constitution.
