  File Photo A young man identified as Tobi Adeleke has died untimely after his friend, Michael Mathew stabbed him in the neck as he was trying to settle a dispute caused by money. The deceased and his killer in the company of some other friends had gathered on Adewunmi Adebiyi Street in Agege Lagos, around 11pm on Saturday and tried to share some money given to them. According to Punch, a fight reportedly broke out among the friends concerning how the money was to be shared. In the process of trying to make peace, Mathew allegedly used a broken bottle to stab Adeleke in the neck. It was gathered that Adeleke was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital after which he was referred to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, for treatment. Adeleke was later confirmed dead by a doctor on duty. Matthew was subsequently arrested by the police. A friend of the deceased, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the deceased was an easy-going person who was a victim of a goo

APC Chairman, Adams Oshiomole The All Progressives Congress in Kwara State has rejected the dissolution of party executive council at the ward, local government and state levels by the Adams Oshiomole – led National Working Committee (NWC), describing the declaration as unlawful, null and void. In a statement issued by Alhaji Sulyman Buhari, Publicity Secretary of the Kwara APC (the one dissolved by the NWC), he said that there was no ground for the dissolution, insisting that the NWC erred. The National Working Committee (NEC) of the APC on Monday, dissolved the Kwara State Executive of the party. The party’s National Chairman, Mr Adams Oshiomhole and its National Secretary, Mai Mala Buni announced this after a meeting of the NWC in Abuja. Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode The Lagos State Government on Tuesday denied reports that it was planning to commence paying salary to religious leaders in the state. Commissioner for Home Affairs, Mr. Abdulateef Abdulhakeem, made the clarification while speaking TVC News programme today. Abdulhakeem said: “The clear position is that the Lagos State Government is not intending to employ imams and pastors. Kingsley Akuekwe, a MSC student of Architecture at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, has died. Local reports show that the young man died after he slumped on the pitch while playing football. Kingsley Akuekwe who was popularly called Ichaka was said to have died on the pitch.  Doctors confirmed him dead after he was immediately rushed to one of the biggest Hospital in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra state – Our Lady Of Loudes Hospital.
